Routine 14 : RAM removal & adjustment
Ram stroke adjustment
· Ensure the Angel is gassed and switched off.
· Open the breech block and remove the bolt.
· Remove the breech block pull knob by gently pulling and unscrewing
counter-clockwise.
· Remove the countersunk screws, using a suitable 2.0mm metric Allen key.
· Carefully lift the back plate off.
· Retract the spring and breech block lock pin .
Important notes: For re-assembly of components
· There are wires attached to the back plate and a spring is located under the back
plate. Care must be taken so that the wires are not pulled or trapped during
maintenance.
· The ram must always be rotated clockwise when setting.
· Ensure the spring is replaced correctly.
· Ensure the breech block opens correctly after refitting the breech block knob.
· Ensure that no wires become trapped during re-assembly.

Backplate exploded

We'll begin by removing your breech knob on the back of the marker. Position the breech retention rod on the non-stationary side of the breech door as pictured, thus keeping the rod fully extended clear of the back of the marker. Remove the breech knob by turning counter-clockwise.
There are two screws on the rear of the backplate, using the XXmm metric wrench, remove one of the two screws. While applying constant pressure to the backplate, remove the 2nd screw. Keep constant pressure on the backplate once this second screw is removed.
Gently remove the backplate from the rear of the marker, taking note of the spring located next to the breech rod. This spring will shoot out of the back of the marker if the proper steps aren't taken when slowly removing the backplate. I recommend removing both the spring and the breech rod while you're here.

Using the ram extraction tool you'll want to begin removal of the ram.

Back the ram out turning counter-clockwise. The threads that lock the ram into the body are only a few deep on the rear of the shaft. Take care to note the 3 external o-rings on the body as they could become damaged on the threads at the rear of the tube on the receiver.

If you need some assistance in pushing the ram out when using the extraction tool use the same method as the exhaust guide removal, gently pushing the center of the hammer out towards the rear of the marker.

When the hammer has been removed, note the three o-rings and ensure they're intact. Wipe all oil, grease, dirt off the ram assembly before reinserting into the tube. In addition you may wish to run squeegie through the tube to rid the internals of any grease or dirt build up. Apply a fresh coat of grease or oil to the o-rings on the ram before reinsertion into the receiver body.

A battle swap through the receiver tube upon removing the ram and/or exhaust valve will help in removing grease that maybe stuck to the tube's walls.

· Using circlip pliers or the ram location tool (optional accessory) rotate ram assembly clockwise until slight resistance is felt in opening the breech block. If rotated too far the breech will not open so rotate counter-clockwise and repeat operation. The ram must always be rotated clockwise when setting.
