Routine 10 : ASA disassembly

For the sake of camera angles, I have removed the grip frame from the receiver body. This is not necessary to remove the ASA from the receiver. However, if you'd like to learn how to remove the trigger frame from the receiver body you can view Routine 8 on how to perform this task.

This is three step process, involving two screws and removal of the ASA. Removal of the gauge is necessary to access the external screw, located directly above it.
The gauge can be easily removed with your fingers, turning the gauge counter-clockwise with some force. There is an o-ring located on the gauge threads to assist with sealing and that should be lightly lubricated.
With the gauge removed, unscrew the external ASA screw with a 3mm metric wrench.
Remove the guide screw with the 4mm metric wrench located directly in the center of the ASA. Either of these two screws can be removed first.
This ASA is now removed. Notice the one-piece design with the o-ring seal. It is important that this seal is present and remains in the guide on the ASA when reinstalling. Air will leak out of the ASA if this o-ring does not seat properly. Also ensure that it is properly lubricated at all times.
Removal of the ASA is important when cleaning the marker. In addition you will need to remove the ASA to remove the LPR and it will make removal of the gas diverter plate (the blue plate seen in the photos) much easier. This is relatively easy maintenance job but also an important one to not neglect when cleaning your marker.
